Literacy Classes

The Adult Learning Center offers basic classes for adults who need to reinforce basic skills.

All students wishing to enter the Basic class are required to complete an initial assessment and attend an orientation session before beginning the class.

  • Interested students can register and complete the placement assessment on Tuesday mornings at 8:30am or Tuesday evenings at 4:00pm.
  • Limited space is available for assessment (14 slots at a time), and slots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • You should plan to arrive no later than 8:30 am for morning registration/testing and no later than 4:00 pm for evening registration/testing.
  • Students arriving late for registration may not be admitted to testing.
  • There is a $30 registration fee. Students who bring a CAP or CAIN form from the SNAP program will not have to pay the initial registration fee--that fee will be covered by SNAP.
  • Classes operate on monthly sessions; students will be placed in the next available session.

*No registration on school holidays or in-service days.
