GED/HSED

GED/High School Equivalency Classes

The General Educational Development (GED) program is an alternative for earning a South Carolina High School credential. This program is for adults who have not completed the unit requirements for a high school diploma.

  • Students who are interested in the GED program can register and complete the placement assessment on Tuesday mornings at 8:30am or Tuesday evenings at 4:30pm.  There will be no evening testing during the summer.  Evening testing will resume the week of August 21, 2018.

  • Limited space is available for assessment, and slots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • You should plan to arrive no later than 8:30 am for morning registration/testing and no later than 4:30 pm for evening registration/testing.   You should plan to be with us for 3 hours to complete assessment.

  • Students arriving late for registration may not be admitted to testing.

  • There is a $30 registration fee. Students who bring a CAP or CAIN form from the SNAP program will not have to pay the initial registration fee--that fee will be covered by SNAP.

  • Classes operate on monthly sessions; students will be placed in the next available session.

  • For students who complete class requirements, GED Test scholarships are available (valued at $150).

*No registration on school holidays or in-service days
