A little information about your me! This is my 20th year in education. Throughout my career in education I have had experiences of teaching elementary and middle school students in North and South Carolina. While in North Carolina, I also taught Drivers Education in an afterschool setting. In addition to teaching, I coached baseball, football and basketball. I spent nine years in the classroom and then moved on to school leadership and administration. I was an assistant principal for five years before becoming a principal for four years. Last year I had the pleasure and unique experience to transition to being the Director of Adult Education for the School District of Pickens County. This will be my second year as the Director of Adult Education.
Academically, I attended Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina. While there, I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. After five years teaching, I pursued and earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Furman University. During my time as an Assistant Principal, I decided to go back to school for my Doctorate Degree. After three years of classes and writing my dissertation, I earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Gardner Webb University.
Outside of school I am happily married to my wife Heather who is also an educator. We have two kids that keep us busy. Brooks is 2 and Mary Kate is 9. Our family lives on a farm that includes 14 cows. We attend Bethesda United Methodist Church in Easley, SC.
