EASLEY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The School District of Pickens County (SDPC) announced it was recognized as an Innovative District at the 2024 Model Schools Conference.

The annual conference celebrates excellence and innovation in education, spotlighting exemplary practices that serve to inspire and empower educators worldwide.

The School District is one of 11 distinguished institutions chosen for this honor who has showcased an exceptional dedication to fostering student success and implementing innovative strategies to address the diverse needs of its learners.

The District was recognized for the Liberty Area Schools’ PreK-12 career alignment plan in collaboration with the Pickens County Career and Technology Center. Administrators from Liberty Primary, Liberty Elementary, Liberty Middle, Liberty High and the Pickens County Career and Technology Center were invited to present at the 2024 Model Schools Conference in Orlando.

“We were truly honored to be acknowledged as an Innovative District at the 2024 Model Schools Conference,” said Dr. Danny Merck, Superintendent of the School District of Pickens County in a release. “This national recognition is a testament to our collective commitment to innovation and student success. It reflects the dedication and hard work of our educators, administrators, and community partners who continually strive to provide exceptional educational opportunities for every student in Pickens County.”
